Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a strategy in therapy for kids from 3-18 who have experienced trauma or abuse. TF-CBT exposes the child in small, tolerable doses to the memory of the trauma after helping the child develop the skills to manage thoughts and feelings associated with the trauma.

What Can TF-CBT Treat:

  • PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Externalizing Behavior
  • Depression
  • Mistrust
  • Shame
  • Grief/Traumatic Loss

TF-CBT can also help parents understand what their children are going through, and can help them learn how to help their child.

Does TF-CBT Work?
TF-CBT has been proven to significantly help children with PTSD and other emotional traumas in as little as 12 to 16 weeks of treatment.

Results we have seen in children and adolescents:

  • Healthy coping with emotions
  • Reductions in depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, shame, & disassociation. TF-CBT also significantly helps the parents’ ability to support their child.

We want people to know that they can have better marriages, better relationships, a better view of themselves and the world around them. They can find balance, joy, and purpose.
