Being an immigrant, Tigist Kiflu was raised to believe that mental health is not something she should pay attention to because it is not “real,” and you need to “pray.” At the same time, you can practice your religion and do what you believe; therapy uses techniques you may not think would work. Tigist is here to help guide you to see what methods can be added to your daily life to boost your mental health. She can use her understanding of the immigration process as a person of color to build a space to examine a shared knowledge of this process’s emotional impacts and where you feel personally and culturally validated through this awareness of your experience. Tigist offers supportive listening, problem management, an empathetic heart, cultural understanding, and upbringing to become a social worker, which makes her a wholesome person to care for her clients uniquely. Tigist is a family-oriented person, and in her free time, she loves going out to different restaurants of diverse cultures. She loves food, and so do her sisters, so it is quite a fun and exciting time. Tigist loves watching action comedy and reality TV shows and also loves reading mystery novels.
