Susan Pfau

Susan Pfau is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota who has been practicing since 2016. She earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University of MN and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Medical Family Therapy at Northcentral University with expected graduation in 2024. Susan changed careers after losing her son (28) to colon cancer. She realized how important mental health support is during those times. Her passion is to walk alongside families experiencing a terminal or serious illness. Susan specializes in early childhood development and mental health. She has extensive training in DC: 0-5-a diagnostic classification of mental health and development disorders of infancy and early childhood. She is trained in Experiential Play Therapy, Theraplay (attachment-based intervention for caregivers and their children), Sand Tray Therapy and EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). In her spare time, Susan enjoys cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking, biking, spending time with her family, and traveling.
