Kara received her Master of Social Work Degree from St. Cloud State University in 2015. She recently was working or PrairieCare as an inpatient social worker, co-located therapist at a pediatric clinic and supervisor through PrairieCare for the past 5 years.  She worked with pediatricians and psychiatrist to create a collaborative approach for patients as well as finding resources that were best for the family as well as specializing in working with children and adolescents with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, and Anger.  Kara has also worked at Washburn Center for Children as a Children’s Mental Health Case Manager and Therapist for three years specializing in finding resources for families, coordinating care, and treating families and individuals with ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression. Kara specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families through building their relationships while learning new parental skills. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while focusing on the family’s and individual’s strengths to help clients with social, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Kara is also basic trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which has been helpful in treating clients with trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Kara is dedicated to an integrative mental health model encompassing physical health as she brings experience from working with a medical team while working at PriairieCare inpatient hospital and pediatric clinic for the past three years. Although Kara has worked with clients on a variety of issues.
