Play Therapy

Play therapy is fun while it
accomplishes great things.

Play Therapy is a counseling approach that builds on the normal cognitive and social development of children. It allows therapists to observe behaviors and habits and then coach children and families.

Through play therapy children can:

  • Become more responsible for their behaviors
  • Develop new and creative solutions to problems
  • Develop respect and acceptance of self and others
  • Learn to experience and express emotion
  • Cultivate empathy and respect for the thoughts and feelings of others
  • Learn new social skills and relational skills with their families
  • Develop self-efficacy and confidence in their abilities

Play therapy also promotes cognitive development. A child’s process for inner conflict, unhealthy thought patterns, and problem solving are often expressed in times of play. Our dedicated experts help facilitate the scenarios that both reveal the processes as well as resolve them. The average course of treatment is twenty play therapy sessions.

  • Play Therapy benefits children of all ages, but is especially appropriate for ages 3 through 12
  • Families are an important part of the healing process
  • Play Therapy allows for an experiential role-play of life skills that are vital to success and healing

We have a number of therapists that specialize in play therapy.

We want people to know that they can have better marriages, better relationships, a better view of themselves and the world around them. They can find balance, joy, and purpose.
