Family Innovations provides home based mental health services through Medical Assistance, for children, adolescents, and their families, and for individual adults across the Twin Cities area, and around the community of Alexandria, Minnesota. Family Innovations is certified through the Minnesota Department of Human Services as a Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) provider, and as an Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARHMS) provider. Eligibility for home based counseling requires active Medical Assistance coverage. Many referrals for community based counseling services come from county social workers, case managers, schools, hospitals and clinics, and other community providers. Parents can also self-refer if they would like home based counseling services for their child and family, as can adults concerned about their own mental health.
Home based counseling appointments are scheduled at times convenient for families and adults, with most appointments made in the afternoons and evenings. Weekend appointments are also an option, at the discretion of the therapist and the family or individual. Meetings take place at least weekly, with some appointments occurring two times per week. For child centered counseling, parents and caregivers are strongly encouraged to participate.
